Q — Why does the pasuk command Avraham to lift his eyes in order to see the Land — what does raising one's eyes add to ordinary sight?

A — This is not physical sight but spiritual perception — even though the Canaanites visibly occupied the Land and Avraham had to purchase a burial plot, its kedushah and direct hashgachah had already been given to him, and he is being told to look past the visible to perceive the hidden truth that the Land is already his.
