Genesis 47:12-27
Yosef feeds his father, brothers, and the entire household during the famine, then organizes the economic survival of Egypt. The passage is the direct biblical locus for Yosef's sustaining role in Egypt and the setting for later chassidic readings about avodah in exile.
Joseph sustained his father, and his brothers, and all his father’s household with bread, down to the little ones. Then Joseph said to the people, “Whereas I have this day acquired you and your land for Pharaoh, here is seed for you to sow the land. And when harvest comes, you shall give one-fifth to Pharaoh, and four-fifths shall be yours as seed for the fields and as food for you and those in your households, and as nourishment for your children.”
