Q — Why is "כאשר יחנו כן יסעו" placed mid-list alongside the verse about the אהל מועד traveling among the camps?

A — Order and dignity belong only in the presence of an honored figure — roads ordinarily have no order. The reason the degalim traveled in such ordered fashion was that the אהל מועד traveled in their midst — מלך הכבוד was among them. This same point underlies the dispute in Menachot 95a: לחם הפנים is NOT disqualified during travel because the kedushah of the אהל מועד persists even while moving.
