How does the Meshech Chochmah understand "בשרירות לבי אלך למען ספות הרוה את הצמאה" — what sophisticated rationalization is being condemned?

Meshekh Chokhmah, Nitzavim:5

Q — How does the Meshech Chochmah understand "בשרירות לבי אלך למען ספות הרוה את הצמאה" — what sophisticated rationalization is being condemned?

A — A pseudo-spiritual logic: "Closing one's eyes and avoiding temptation is no avodah — the HIGHER path is to plunge into the marketplace, into forbidden women, into "שרירות הלב" — and STILL retain yirat shamayim; THAT proves true dveykus." He turns "ספות הרוה את הצמאה" into a strategy: artificially induce desire even for things you naturally don't want, so you can collect reward for resisting them too. The Torah condemns this with the harshest language — do NOT place yourself in nisyonot at all.
