עקידת יצחק
Akeidat Yitzchak 48:1
Q — Why does the Torah lavish such detail on the Mishkan's measurements and materials, repeating them before and after the making? Why "ושכנתי בתוכם" — within them, not within it? What is gained by a physical dwelling for the Infinite?
A — Every particular of the Mishkan exists to draw down hashraas haShechinah, and each detail signifies a spiritual reality, so the Torah's precision is itself the lesson. "Within them" teaches that the true dwelling is in the people; the structure is a tangible scaffold for an inward indwelling. The repetition before and after the making shows that the Mishkan's worth lies in faithful conformity to the divine pattern — the exact form is the conduit, and exactness is devotion.
