עקידת יצחק
Akeidat Yitzchak 35:1
Q — Why ten plagues in a fixed order, the first seven in this parsha? Why warn before some and not others? Why harden Pharaoh's heart, seemingly removing his choice?
A — The plagues are arranged as a structured demonstration to make God's glory known — establishing in stages that He exists and is Master (against denial of His being), that He governs and watches (against denial of hashgachah), and that nothing limits His power. Each cluster targets one false belief; the warnings and their absence track which lesson each plague teaches. Pharaoh's heart was strengthened so he could withstand the plagues and exercise real choice rather than capitulate from mere pain, letting the full demonstration unfold.
