'והיא כפֹרחת עלתה נצה' — what is the כ' prefix in כפורחת? Rashi: כ' of comparison ('דומה לפורחת' — since it's just a dream, it only seemed to bud). What does Ramban hear instead?

Ramban on Genesis 40:10

Q — 'והיא כפֹרחת עלתה נצה' — what is the כ' prefix in כפורחת? Rashi: כ' of comparison ('דומה לפורחת' — since it's just a dream, it only seemed to bud). What does Ramban hear instead?

A — It is the כ' of immediate time — 'as soon as.' The vine immediately upon budding sprouted blossoms which immediately ripened. This rapid sequence is 'להורות כי ממהר האלהים לעשותו.' Crucially, this reading also resolves a separate question Ibn Ezra raised: how did Yosef know the three branches meant three days, not three months or years? Ibn Ezra answered by appeal to Pharaoh's birthday. Ramban shows Yosef learned the answer from the dream itself — the speed of ripening signaled days, not months. (For the baker's dream, with no such marker, Yosef inferred either that both will be judged on the same day, or that two dreams in one night share their timing.)
