Ezekiel 43:15-16
In the Temple vision, the altar is called הָאֲרִיאֵל and אֲרִיאֵל. Here Ariel denotes the altar hearth or altar structure, connecting the name with sacrificial fire and the Temple service.
וְהַהַרְאֵ֖ל אַרְבַּ֣ע אַמּ֑וֹת (ומהאראיל) [וּמֵהָאֲרִיאֵ֣ל] וּלְמַ֔עְלָה הַקְּרָנ֖וֹת אַרְבַּֽע׃ (והאראיל) [וְהָאֲרִיאֵ֗ל] שְׁתֵּ֤ים עֶשְׂרֵה֙ אֹ֔רֶךְ בִּשְׁתֵּ֥ים עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה רֹ֑חַב רָב֕וּעַ אֶ֖ל אַרְבַּ֥עַת רְבָעָֽיו׃
and the height of the altar hearth shall be 4 cubits, with 4 horns projecting upward from the hearth: 4 cubits. Now the hearth shall be 12 cubits long and 12 broad, square, with 4 equal sides.
